To make the most of your ride, I recommend bringing the following:
Comfortable clothes – Dress for the weather and wear something you can move in. Layers are a good idea in spring and fall.
Closed-toe shoes – For safety and comfort while riding.
Water bottle
Sunglasses & sunscreen – It can get sunny out there, even on cooler days.
Small backpack or crossbody bag – Handy for carrying your essentials during the ride.
Camera or smartphone – You’ll want to capture some great spots along the way!
Optional:
Light rain jacket (just in case)
-
The bikes have adjustable seats and a step through frame for ease getting on and suitable for varying body sizes.
-
Yes, you're welcome to bring your own bike if you prefer! Just keep in mind that the tour is paced for electric bikes, so if you're using a traditional (non-electric) bike, be prepared for a bit more effort—especially on hills or longer stretches.
I want everyone to enjoy the ride, so if you're comfortable keeping up on your own bike, I'm happy to have you join. Just let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly and make sure you're set for the route.

Throughout the tour, we make multiple planned stops at key cultural, historical, and scenic spots, typically every 15–20 minutes. These stops give you time to rest, take photos, grab a drink of water, and hear stories about the area. While there aren’t formal “bike rest areas” like you might find on a long trail, the route is designed to be easy-paced and comfortable, with plenty of chances to pause and recharge.
If you ever need an unscheduled stop, just let me know. This tour is all about enjoying the ride, not rushing through it!
-
The KC Streetcar runs along much of our tour route, so if you ever need to head back to the starting point at the Country Club Plaza, it's easy to hop on at any time during the ride.
